The recent Chief Data & Analytics Officer Forum Singapore gathered the region’s leading data and analytics executives to share their insights on developing the infrastructure, ecosystem, buy-in, culture and strategies to maximise the degree of actionable information available. 2018 was a fantastic event with engaging presentations, topical discussion, in-depth masterclass and invaluable networking opportunities. The two days covered many topics and issues from the development of data analytics capability, culture, data literacy and leadership skills, to the governing of bias and deployment of advanced analytics.
For 2018 CDAO Singapore reflected the interests and aspirations of the data community across the entire region. Knowledge and insight was available for our engaged audience to develop firm foundations to drive a successful data and analytics journey. The main conference featured fantastic talks from leading local, regional and international data and analytics leaders including: Unmesh Kurup, Senior Manager AI and Machine Learning at LG Electronics, Max Métral, Insights Manager, Formula 1® and Paul Cobban, Chief Data and Transformation Officer, Managing Director, Group Technology and Operations from DBS Bank.
The first day culminated in further networking opportunities with a well-attended drinks reception.
Day Two brought even more panel and presentation insight and engagement in our world-renowned discussion group formats. We learnt how organisations are ensuring quality controls, making actionable information available, discussed ‘Data Psychologists’ and speaking to the opportunity through effective storytelling. Dr Daniel Yew Mao Lim from the Prime Minister’s Office and GovTech entertained us with ‘rogue trains’ whilst Axiata Group Berhad’s Pedro Uria-Recio made us reflect upon the synergy between human and artificial intelligence.
The event featured an exclusive masterclass session on delivering true value from data science teams hosted by IBM’s Global VicePresident & Chief Data Officer and IBM’s Asia-Pacific Chief Technology Officer.
